Bystrova Yana

Born in 1966 in Kyiv into a family of artists, sculptor Borys Bystrov and artist Valentyna Kutsevych.
She studied at the School and Academy of Fine Arts of Ukraine in Kyiv, having received an art education. She participated in the lively art scenes of Kyiv after graduation, and in 1991, moved to Paris.
She continued to develop her career there, exploring additional media, such as photography, digital art, and silkscreen, and learned programming. Moving away from the training of her early years, Yana’s work revolves around the psychological impact of colour, the ambivalence of perception, and the interpretation of images.
Her interest in several media, also makes her especially aware of the interactive elements of her work, and the viewer’s subsequent engagement.
She lives and works in Paris.
