Maria Kulikovska was born in 1988 in Kerch, Ukraine.

She graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv. From 2016 to 2017 she studied at the Royal Institute of Fine Arts, Stockholm, Sweden.

Winner of RutaRuna competitions for young artists of Ukraine and Sweden (2013). Participant of the MUhi project (2011). Nominee for the Pinchuk Art Prize (2013). Author of architectural projects (in particular, the buildings of the Shcherbenko Art Center) in Ukraine, Switzerland and China.

Maria Kulikovska’s main works are her own body, its perpetuation, transformation and disintegration. In the artist’s work, the idea of ​​the body is transformed into architectural structures formed from natural materials, such as salt, milk or sugar, which refer to the theme of production, construction and deconstruction.
