Voznytskiy Andriy

Date of Birth: 1975
Place of residence: Lviv

Andriy Voznytsky was born on September 22, 1975 in a famous artistic family. Grandfather – Borys Hryhorovych Voznytsky – Hero of Ukraine, a famous Ukrainian art critic, academician, for many years headed the Lviv Art Gallery.

Andrew’s acquaintance with art began as a child, when he began to complete his own drawings to reproductions of paintings in art albums. In his youth he admired the works of famous British sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, one of the founders of the style of abstract sculpture – French sculptor of Romanian descent Constantin Brancusi, as well as abstract artist, sculptor and poet Jean Arp.

Education

In 1990, Andriy entered the Lviv School of Applied Arts. I. Trusha to the sculpture department, which he graduated in 1994. He later continued his studies at the Lviv Academy of Arts, where he met his future wife Olesya, an artist and ceramist from Transcarpathia.

Creative path

After graduation, Andriy and Olesya moved to Uzhhorod, worked together on various projects, including interior design and the environment, and worked on sculpture in parallel.

Analysis of natural forms Andriy Voznytsky considers the basis for the creation of decorative and monumental sculpture, investing in the energy of dynamics and statics, trying to engage in dialogue with the outside world. Abstract forms, female and male figures are united by a certain system of formation. The author creates sculptures from concrete and wood, but his favorite material is bronze. It is able to bear all the obligations set by the author and fully reproduce the ideas and plans of the artist.

In 2015, Andriy Voznytsky became the winner of the regional award named after J. Bokshaya and A. Erdeli in the field of fine and decorative arts.

The works of Andriy and Olesya take part in many domestic exhibitions. One of the most recent are exhibitions of the creative project “Farewell, Word …”, which took place in 2017 in Uzhgorod and in 2018 in Kyiv. According to the curator of the project Taras Tabaka – the discourse between communication and information, the practice of solitude and rejection of mentoring, the movement towards a new sensuality in the context of global networks – these are the main themes and highlights of the creative project.

In 2018, sculptural and picturesque works by Andriy Voznytskyi took part in a new project “Lviv Art Days”, created by analogy with World Art Weeks, to present and promote Ukrainian artists in international cultural events taking place in Lviv.

The artist’s works are in numerous private collections in Ukraine, Great Britain, Belgium, the United States and other countries.
