From 1980 to 1984 he studied at Kyiv Art and Industrial College (nowadays – Kyiv State Institute of Arts and Design named after Mykhailo Boychuk) at Faculty of Art Design.
For some time he worked as a decorator in children’s theater. He continued his studies at NAFAS’s Faculty of Graphic Arts.
He trained at Munich Academy of Arts, where he became interested in sculpture. He studied the works of Auguste Rodin, Alexander Arkhipenko, Henry Moore, Alberto Giacometti.
Victor Konoval has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Ukraine and abroad. His works have been exhibited in the galleries of Moscow, Munich, Edinburgh. The artist regularly presented his objects at the Great Sculpture Salon at the Ukrainian House, and then at Mystetskiy Arsenal.
Materials Konoval uses are plaster, glass, fireclay, granite, bronze, marble, wood. His sculpture from small plastic tends to be emotional. The fascination with simple forms has remained in the past. He replaced them with character compositions, allegorical, ironic, and engaging in dialogue with the viewer.
