About work

As the art critic Elaine Kwok has written: “Her artwork’s spectacular features are not only because of its amazing realism and illusionism of objects like butterflies, human feet, splashed water flying in the air, etc. but also because of the total display of its whole iconography in all the details of her poetic treatment of color, line, form, composition, and so on. Such spectacular features are extremely eye-catching and fascinating as they catch the viewer’s attention right away and draw the viewer into the total state of absorption reaching the highest level of theatricality and being absorbed which is what Michael Fried calls “the third level of spectatorship”.

Annaluigia Boeretto, in art ‘Annalu’, was born in San Dona’ di Piave (Venice).
The keen material blender has been able to summarize in a very original manner, the atmospheres and the beauties of the ancient and noble Venetian artistic tradition. Annalu is known for her butterfly Mandalas, ambiguous orchids and bonsais, arrow-pierced books that ‘bleed’ with crystal-clear, tear-like glass.

She started elaborating her very unique and particular artworks at a very young age, whether she attended regularly the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. A multimedia and multitalented artist, Annalu’ is constantly exploring the matter, how it can be transformed, re-elaborated and re-transformed again. She mixes materials to create fervid fantasy artworks.

Annalu has been involved in different editions of the Venice Biennale, while her artworks are exhibited and collected all over the world.
