Pyrin Mikhail Semenovich (1874-1943) worked in the field of genre, landscape and portrait painting. Even during the life of the artist, his paintings painted in the best traditions of Russian realistic art were admired in different parts of the world.
The artist was an excellent portrait painter – subtle, thoughtful, delving into the inner world of man. The painting “Woman’s Portrait” is a clear confirmation of this. A slender dark-haired young woman attracts with her simplicity, naturalness, and mastery of execution. A little sad eyes create a shy image, but a cute blush gives it flirty. M. Pyrin portrayed the heroine as irresistibly charming, skillfully preserving the mystery in her, her truth of life. The penetrating gaze expresses the volatile complexity of the spiritual world of this young woman. The smoky gray color of the work gives the image airiness, and soft light fills with a sense of tenderness.
