- Barakat Eman (1)
Iman Barakat was born in Giza in 1988.
Education
She graduated from the Faculty of Sculpture at the University of Helwan in 2011 and received a master’s degree in 2018 in the same specialty.
Creative path
“I prefer to work with natural, familiar materials such as stone and metal to create my own works.
I rely on using abstract and simple details to focus on the beauty of the shape. I chose the form of animals because it has more vitality and the ability to perform various movements, creating a dialogue between the forms. ”
She has won numerous awards for her work, including the 2019 Adam Henain Prize in Sculpture, the Hassan Hashmat Prize in 2014 and 2017, and the Zakaria Honeini and Aida Abd el-Karim Awards. Her works are in private and public collections.
